Jami
Rodriguez is a jewelry designer born in Iowa City, Iowa where
her love of fashion started at a very young age. At 12 years
old her father made her a huge drafting table that almost took
up her entire room. She would sit for hours designing and creating
outfits and accessories. At only 16 years, Jami, graduated high
school, packed her bags and took off for New York City. There
she immersed herself into the world of fashion and art never
thinking jewelry was her path.
At 25 a friend asked her
to create a necklace and from that moment she was hooked! Jami
started playing around with beads, chains, metals while perfecting
her craft. In the fall of 2005 Jami Rodriguez Jewelry was born.
Growing up with a family of entrepreneurs, this was a natural
step for her. It was only a few short months later that Jami’s
jewelry was picked up by Fred Segal and Patricia Field.
Jami’s Cougar Agate
Necklace was worn on Samantha in Sex and the City the movie,
defining her as one of the top trend setters in fashion jewelry
today. Jami Rodriguez Jewelry has been featured in Vogue, Lucky,
Elle, Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire to name just a few and
has also reached new levels of success in Japan.
Jami doesn’t take
herself too seriously and you can see that in her whimsical
and fun jewelry. From necklaces that look like a deep-sea treasure
box to teardrop earrings juxtaposed with little pretzels there
is never a dull moment with her jewelry!
The jewelry is carried
in over 150 retailers worldwide and is also sold through her
company website at www.jamirodriguezjewelry.com |
